The Scenario: A Global Marketplace Built on Creative Expression

Zedge, a publicly traded company in the United States and Europe (NYSE: ZDGE), is known globally for its massive catalog of wallpapers, ringtones, and digital art. With over 25 million monthly active users across mobile and web and 550,000 daily users on its web marketplace alone, Zedge empowers artists to sell creative assets directly to fans. But as the company launched premium features and monetization tools on web, one challenge became a recurring issue: Accessibility compliance.

"We didn’t just want to check a box. We wanted to make our platform truly usable for everyone—especially since we're dealing with payments and premium products."

- Mindaugas Vaupšas, Senior Product Manager, Zedge

The Challenge: Manual Vendors, Duplicate Tickets, and Lack of Clarity

Zedge began their accessibility efforts with a manual testing vendor, but the workflow quickly created bottlenecks. The team was frustrated by repetitive issues, unclear remediation paths, and a lack of control.

"What we identified as important were report generation and issue exploration. We didn’t want plain text saying there’s an issue and then have to go find it ourselves. And many vendors were reporting the same issue 100 times because of component reuse," said Mindaugas. "It gave us an inaccurate understanding of where we actually stood with compliance."

Worse, their existing vendor dictated their remediation cadence through automated scripts that flagged issues, created JIRA tickets, and added pressure on developers. They simply flooded the team with issues by constantly showing red lights. “We knew there were issues. What we needed was clarity, prioritization, and ownership,” Mindaugas described.

Zedge needed a solution that was flexible, actionable, and truly developer-friendly.

The Solution: TestParty’s Developer-First Accessibility Platform

Zedge chose TestParty because it offered what their previous solution lacked: ownership, clarity, and agility.

With TestParty’s PreGame Web AI Scanner, Zedge engineers could now run accessibility scans on demand—during development, before production pushes, or whenever it made the most sense for their workflow. This shift allowed the team to test, fix, and re-test issues iteratively, without waiting on third-party windows or approvals.

Unlike other platforms, TestParty provided immediate, human-readable explanations for accessibility issues. Developers could understand not only what the issue was, but where it occurred and why it mattered. Summary reports broke down issue severity, recurrence, and impact, making it easy to brief leadership with minimal translation or technical overhead.

But perhaps most importantly, the Zedge team was deeply impressed by TestParty’s responsiveness. When they flagged an issue, the TestParty team addressed it—often within days. This kind of partnership was rare, not just in accessibility tooling, but across all vendors.

"You guys really are working very, very fast and reacting to our feedback. Not waiting weeks. You see the issue and fix it in several days. It’s not even about accessibility—compared to any service provider, this has been the smoothest collaboration."

- Mindaugas Vaupšas, Senior Product Manager

The Results: Confidence, Clarity, and Control

During its initial rollout, Zedge tested TestParty on a web project already believed to be in strong shape. The results validated that belief, TestParty was able to the same issues the team had previously identified and more. This apples-to-apples comparison gave Zedge confidence in the tool’s accuracy and effectiveness.

With TestParty, Zedge gained full control of its accessibility process. "Now we own the process of resolving and verifying accessibility issues. We can prioritize things during development, test, rescan, and do that repeatedly," said Mindaugas.

TestParty’s reporting capabilities also transformed communication with leadership. "It’s human-readable. Not based on compliance paragraphs. The summary list is clear—how many issues we have, what’s critical. We can export to a digital format and present it," he explained.

The Road Ahead: Expanding to Mobile Accessibility

With the web rollout deemed a success, Zedge is now preparing to expand its use of TestParty to cover its mobile apps across iOS, Android, React Native, Flutter, and MAUI. "The most demanding thing for us now is mobile. And hopefully we’ll be able to continue the collaboration at a bigger scale," said Mindaugas.

The team is already working with TestParty to prepare a rollout and training for their mobile engineering teams.

For Zedge, TestParty isn’t just a vendor, it’s a partner in building an inclusive web.

"I’m really lucky we have such a good collaboration,” Mindaugas shared. And when asked why he’d recommend TestParty to others, he summed it up simply: “Two words describe it all: easygoing collaboration.”

The Conclusion: A Collaborative, Culture-Changing Partnership

Zedge’s story is a testament to what’s possible when accessibility is developer-led and platform-integrated. With TestParty, the team transitioned from overwhelmed to empowered, moving from vague reports and red-flag dashboards to a streamlined, proactive, and precise remediation process.

From day one, TestParty matched Zedge’s pace and priorities, proving that accessibility isn’t just about compliance: it’s about control, confidence, and creating better user experiences for everyone.
