Ongoing coverage for the price of a one-and-done:A one-time remediation quote from a development agency cost nearly the same as a full year of TestParty, but covered a single pass. TestParty delivered continuous monthly scans, documentation, and expert support for roughly the same annual spend.

Compliant in two weeks, as promised:Satya was skeptical that two-week compliance was realistic. It worked out exactly that way.

Effectively zero lift for a three-person team:With a tiny team and no time to spare, Satya needed accessibility handled for them, not handed back. As the director put it, “I didn’t have to do anything.”

The gap automated tools and audits left behind:Satya’s research showed automation-only solutions miss issues, and scan-only vendors still leave the fixes to your developers. TestParty closed both gaps by remediating directly.

Caught before it becomes a problem:With weekly and monthly scanning, changes to Satya’s frequently updated site, new products, pages, collections, and apps, are caught proactively rather than after the fact.

THE SCENARIO: A Spiritual Jewelry Brand With a Lean Team

Satya Jewelry is a spiritual jewelry company whose pieces are designed around meaningful symbols and healing gemstones. The brand guides customers, through storytelling, filtering, and content, toward pieces that resonate with their personal “intentions,” whether attracting love, abundance, or a sense of purpose. As Eileen Shulock, e-commerce director at Satya Jewlery describes it, a Satya piece is a deeply personal talisman, not an impulse buy.

Behind that experience is a very small team, an e-commerce director, a creative director, and a marketing person, with the e-commerce director responsible for everything from the technical functioning of the site to merchandising, marketing platforms, email, affiliates, and hitting daily numbers.

THE CHALLENGE: Every Option Was Incomplete

For a team this lean, doing accessibility in-house was never realistic, and the outside options each fell short in a different way.

“We shopped around for someone to do this. It’s not something that we could do personally,” said Eileen Shulock, e-commerce director at Satya Jewelry. The brand first looked to a development agency, “but they would do it one time, and not on an ongoing basis. They don’t have a program to be monitoring your website for ADA compliance every month.”

Satya’s research then surfaced the limits of the other models on the market. Fully automated, “only automated” solutions “would not catch everything and would not actually get you ADA compliant. There’d be a lot of loopholes,” Eileen said. And scan-only vendors created double work: “companies that would do the scans and tell you where you were not compliant, but then your development company had to go make the changes, which is like twice.”

The deeper issue was bandwidth.

“We have no time to do any of this - So it really is not only time-saving for us, but we don’t have to worry.”

THE SOLUTION: Practical, Complete, and Hands-Off

Satya heard about TestParty through a personal referral, a friend of the company’s CFO who had just signed on. By that point the brand was close to committing to a development agency for a one-time project, until the comparison made the choice obvious.

“It was basically the cost of a one-time solution for the year was close to what we ended up paying annually for TestParty, and it was only for a one-time solution,” Eileen said. “We really wanted to have the monthly scans and the documentation, and the ability to say that we’re working with a third-party expert. It just seemed like a much more practical and complete decision than going solely with a one-time development project.”

The delivery matched the promise. TestParty coordinated with Satya’s development company for site and GitHub access, worked through a shared Slack channel, and carried the remediation itself.

“They were very thorough in working with me, plus working with our development company,” Eileen said.

“They were able to just make all of these changes and then come back and say, here’s a few areas we need to look at, but overall we did all this work and you’re compliant, and we’ll tackle issues as they come along. It was very easy. I didn’t have to do anything.”

Even the timeline she’d doubted held up. “It was much easier than I expected. The whole subject seems very complicated, and I was afraid I’d have to do complicated things, but I didn’t,” Eileen said. “They did say we can get you ADA compliant in two weeks, and I didn’t quite believe that, but it did actually work out that way.”

THE RESULTS: Compliant, Maintained, and Off Her Plate

For Satya, the result is the absence of worry. The brand reached compliance quickly and now stays there, with monthly audit reports as documentation and a third-party expert standing behind the work, all for an annual cost comparable to what a single one-time fix would have run.

Because Satya is constantly evolving its site, “we add products, we add new pages and collections, and we do add new functionality, we have a lot of apps”, the ongoing model matters most. Rather than discovering problems after the fact, TestParty’s weekly and monthly scanning catches issues before they become problems.

“It’s just really important that somebody looks at everything overall and makes sure that it’s compliant”

THE ROAD AHEAD: Accessibility Built Into Every Change

Accessibility is now a permanent part of how Satya operates. As the brand keeps adding features, products, and apps, TestParty stays aware of the changes, often catching them before the team even flags them, with ongoing support over Slack and monthly reports the team can rely on.

Eileen’s advice to other brands weighing the same decision is direct: “Weigh the cost versus spending a lot of money to do this one time and then having to do it over and over again any time you add something new. And be very clear about what other services are actually offering, because it’s a little confusing, sometimes it’s ‘we’ll get you ADA compliant,’ but then a development agency does the work after they tell you what has to be done. You have to educate yourself, and TestParty really works out to be the best solution.”
